Google has added new protections to its Enhanced Safe Browsing feature. Warnings will now be shown when installing Chrome extensions that are not trusted, or when downloading a file that might be dangerous.
Installing a malicious Chrome extension or opening a dangerous file has the potential to infect your computer with malware.
Users are advised to enable Enhanced Safe Browsing, not install Chrome extensions showing a warning, and to scan downloaded files that might be dangerous when prompted by Chrome.
