Challenges
As Senior Manager – ICT at Cire Services, Ian Rennison oversees a team of five responsible for supporting the IT infrastructure of an organization with more than 1,000 end-users across Melbourne's South-East. Having spent over 20 years in IT service and infrastructure management, Ian understands the importance of reliable and efficient tools for supporting a distributed workforce.
When Ian joined Cire Services in early 2026, the IT team was using TeamViewer for remote endpoint support. While the platform met basic remote access requirements, several challenges made it difficult to scale and manage effectively.
Key challenges included:
A deployment process that was difficult to manage across a large number of devices
Complex features that added unnecessary administration overhead
High licensing and operating costs
Limited flexibility for large-scale device management
The need for a more streamlined and centralized support experience
"We were looking for a solution that was easier to deploy, simpler to manage, and more cost-effective without sacrificing functionality," said Ian.
The team evaluated several alternatives, including ScreenConnect and AnyDesk, before beginning a trial of Splashtop.
Resolution
Following a successful evaluation, Cire Services selected Splashtop Remote Support and deployed the solution across its environment, supporting up to 900 managed devices.
Easy Deployment and Centralized Management
The team quickly adopted Splashtop as part of their daily helpdesk operations. The platform's responsive remote connections allow technicians to efficiently troubleshoot issues, provide user assistance, and perform administrative tasks across both Windows and Mac devices.Scalability for a Growing Organization
With support for up to 900 managed devices, Splashtop provides the flexibility Cire Services needs to support its expanding technology environment. The solution delivers enterprise-grade functionality without introducing unnecessary complexity.Improved User Experience for IT Staff
The intuitive interface and simplified workflows reduced the learning curve for administrators and made remote support easier for the entire IT team. As a result, technicians can spend less time managing tools and more time supporting users.Strong Return on Investment
One of the most significant benefits has been the reduction in software costs. Compared to the previous solution, Splashtop costs approximately one-quarter of what Cire Services was paying before, while continuing to provide the functionality and reliability needed to support daily IT operations.
"The scalability, functionality and affordability of Splashtop made it an obvious
choice for us."
