Live from FETC - Celebrating the 16,000th Classroom Using Splashtop Whiteboard
Friday, January 27, 2012 by joanneWe just have too much fun here at Splashtop! Once again we had an opportunity to connect with the education community, only this time, at FETC. Thousands of educators nationwide descended on Orlando for an opportunity to explore new technologies. Many made it to our booth 915 and raved about how we continue to be relevant in their classrooms on a daily basis.
See you at TCEA in Austin in a few weeks. Ready. Set. Whiteboard!

Splashtop Remote Desktop THD Wins “Best Mobile App" at CES 2012
Wednesday, January 18, 2012 by joanneEven though we didn't have a booth at CES 2012, we still had plenty of great news coverage courtesy of partners like NVIDIA. Here's a recap:
1) Splashtop Remote THD was awarded CES 2012's "Best Mobile App" by LAPTOP Magazine! We are honored.

2) NVIDIA's CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, showcased Splashtop on stage at their press conference. The cool part was when he invited Johnathan (Fatal!ty) Wendel to play the newly-release 3D game, Skyrim, using Splashtop on a Tegra 3 Asus Transformer Prime tablet. We were impressed!

5 Ways to Wow Your Audience by Presenting with an iPad
Monday, January 09, 2012 by joanneDoing a presentation and want to impress your audience? Here are 5 ways to do that using an iPad.
1) ROAM FREE: Connect your computer to a projector. Launch the Presenter app on your iPad and open your presentation. Watch your audience's jaw drop as you walk around the room while controlling your presentation all from an iPad.

2) USE VISUAL AIDS TO EXPRESS YOURSELF: Launch the tool bar and voila! Now you can annotate (write, draw, highlight) over any content, even Keynote / PowerPoint files, Flash websites, and videos! Set your inner John Madden free as you annotate away on the last play.

3) GET INTERACTIVE: Use the Screen Shade tool to slowly reveal text or images. Ask a question, then reveal the answer. This is your house and no one is sleeping here!

4) KEEP IT INTERESTING: Got something important you want to highlight? Maybe it's an increase in sales or your latest Facebook fan growth. Use the Spotlight tool to call attention and help your audience remember the key points. Most people can probably only remember three key takeaways from any given presentation, so make it count!

5) BE SPONTANEOUS: Don't be afriad to put your presentation on hold to explain something in more detail if someone has a question. Simply load different flipchart backgrounds (or add your own) to convey your point better with a chart or drawing using all the cool tools available on the toolbar! Think of all the meetings you've been in where someone would get up to draw something on a flip chart. Now, you can do that all from the iPad!
